The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Is this the case with how you approach the new year? Do you start off January with a laundry list of things you want to change and how “This is going to be your year?” and then come February you’ve forgotten all about the goals you had?
Setting goals that are BIG and LIFE CHANGING makes us feel awesome and empowered in the moment. You get this wave of motivation and you think ‘this is finally the time. I’m going to crush it.’
If you could take away all of life’s stressors and be 100% focused on yourself and your diet this might be realistic. For most of us though, life isn’t on our side when it comes to strict new goals that require a complete overhaul of how we’ve been doing things for the past few years, maybe even decades.
When creating goals, being realistic is more important than the goals being big and sexy.
