It’s time for some real talk.
We see a lot of obsession with the scale. Somewhere along the way, society decided that the ‘a body’s relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward force; the heaviness of a person or thing’ REALLY MEANS SOMETHING.
And we get it, you have goals you want to reach. But quite often people become so obsessed with a number that they don’t pay attention to all of the other feedback that their body is giving them.
We have seen people lose inches off their waist, feel wonderful, get stronger, fit in to an old pair of jeans… and yet have them say “But I really just want to lose that extra 5 lbs”.
We mean this in the nicest way possible: No one gives a flying fat fuck what you weigh. I repeat: There is not a single person on this earth who will like you any more or any less if you lose that 5 lbs that you’re allowing to have such a hold on you.
If your friend Sally came up to you and said “I weigh 160 lbs” would you feel any different if she came up and said “I weigh 155 lbs?” Nah.
If someone came up to you and looked more fit, healthy and happy than they did before and said “but I actually weigh 10 more lbs than I used to” would you tell them they should probably go on a diet? Absolutely not.
In fact, you’re probably not having these conversations at all because ( drum roll please ) no one cares what you weigh.
Your weight is a TOOL that we can use to track progress.
Your worth, health, and progress should not be determined by a number. And if it is, it’s time to throw that scale out the window and start focusing on something else.
