Consistency is one of the hardest parts of any nutrition program!
It also happens to be one of the most important.
We believe this is why people tend to be more drawn to crash diets rather than long term solutions.
Of course people desire fast results, but it’s also a lot easier to go extra hard for a month or two than it is to be consistent for a whole year.
Between boredom, stress, time….. Some days it would be so much easier to just say screw it and not pay attention anymore. How can you stay consistent?

Stop relying on motivation. I probably feel motivated to get my butt to the gym and weigh all my food about 20% of the time. So part of this is getting comfortable being uncomfortable. I know you don’t want to do it today; but doing the things you don’t want to do is what is standing between you and the results you want.

Accountability. Whether it’s hiring a nutrition coach or pairing up with a friend with similar goals, accountability goes such a long way. In fact, I just recently hired my own coach! Sometimes in life we need someone looking out for us to make sure our goals don’t slip through the cracks.

Learn how to add in some flexibility. Your diet doesn’t need to be perfect 100% of the time. It’s not realistic and it can take some of the joy out of living. If you don’t plan in some flexibility to your diet it’s going to get monotonous sooner rather than later. Not sure how much flexibility is too much? Let us know!

Learn to love the process. Love the struggle, love that you care enough about your body and health to grind through the not so fun parts.
