Diet is often associated with weight loss.
It makes sense as the two often go hand in hand. The only problem is, sometimes we aren’t in a place where actively trying to lose weight is doing us any good (excessive stress, chronic dieting, recently had a baby etc). What’s more, we can get so caught up in weight loss and the number on the scale that we forget about the other important aspects to your health journey.
No matter your reason, we think it’s crucial that you find other reasons to eat well and nourish your body that aren’t surrounding how you look or the number on the scale. Here’s just a few of our favorites:
• Have more energy. Both the things that we do eat and DON’T eat can have a huge impact on our energy levels.
• Mood enhancement. Just like our energy levels, our mood can be affected by our nutrition.
• Improved self esteem. As our energy and mood enhances, we often feel a boost in self esteem.
• It saves money. Preventative care on our bodies can feel more expensive short-term, but in the long run you end up saving money on potential future health costs.
• Better sleep.
• Respect for your body. Instead of only giving our bodies what they need when we are trying to lose weight, we show respect for our body when we nourish our bodies on the regular.
